No Need To Be Bamboozled

HOME owners, architects, interior designers and builders alike should have just one word on their lips at the moment, and that word is bamboo.

Bamboo flooring is one of the most striking, hard-wearing and unique products on the market today and, best of all, it is a sustainable product.

Style Plantation is setting the benchmark for renewable resource products throughout Australia and New Zealand. It specialises in the import, distribution and manufacture of quality renewable resource products. Style Plantation has eight showrooms around Australia and one in Auckland, with a view to expanding the retail distribution network to 15 outlets within 18 months.

Style Plantation recognises a responsibility to the environment and the company is committed to the supply of environmentally friendly products as part of its product suite.

Style Plantation's director Paul Coulson said more people were finding out about the seemingly endless benefits of a bamboo floor in both looks and practicality.

"Bamboo is allergy-free, environmentally friendly, repels termites and is reputed to be superior in quality and more durable than most hardwood timber floors," Mr Coulson said.

"Bamboo flooring is becoming increasingly popular because it doesn't react to climatic changes by expanding, contracting, warping, cupping or discolouration, as do some timbers.

"The flooring is also ideal for refurbishment because it arrives as a finished product already coated, so there is no unnecessary mess and dangerous fumes normally associated with on-site sanding and polishing, and it can be laid over existing flat floor tiles."

Style Plantation has devoted substantial resources to developing strategic relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, Mr Coulson said.

"Particular emphasis has been on ensuring consistent quality and supply of the product suite.

"The current product suite includes bamboo flooring, bamboo panels for ceilings etc, bamboo fencing, bamboo woven sheeting and veneers for walls and ceilings, bamboo and natural fibre blinds, bamboo furniture boards for stairs, benchtops and furnishings and Paulownia timber."
